FAQs
Travel vaccinations questions
Quick answers from the team at Ridgway Pharmacy.
How far ahead should I book?
Ideally 6 to 8 weeks before you travel, because some vaccines need more than one dose. If you are leaving sooner, book anyway and we will do what we can.
Do I need a consultation first?
Your appointment includes a travel consultation, where we check your trip and health before recommending vaccines.
Can I get malaria tablets?
Yes, where they are suitable. We advise on the right option for your destination during the consultation.
Are travel vaccines free on the NHS?
Some travel vaccines are free from your GP. Others are private. We can tell you which apply to your trip.
Can the whole family come together?
Yes. Book an appointment for each person travelling.
